Anya Taylor-Joy’s The Menu Gets Release Date from Searchlight

Anya Taylor-Joy‘s latest film, The Menu, has gotten an official release date of November 18th from its distributor Searchlight. The Menu, a $35 million budgeted suspense film produced by Adam McKay, has gotten an official release date of November 18th, the Friday before Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, its star, Anya Taylor-Joy, is getting ready to celebrate the release of her other movie, The Northman, which opens this coming weekend at a theater near you. “The Queen’s Gambit” award-winning star, Taylor-Joy, is going to have her performances watched very closely after she came on to the recent movie scene with the acclaimed film from last year, Last Night in Soho. There is no turning back for this actress who has been on a winning streak lately.

Here’s something you may not have known: Taylor-Joy’s role in The Menu had once been attached to Emma Stone! We all know Stone has been associated with award-worthy projects lately so does this mean Taylor-Joy finally stands a shot at Oscar glory? I would say, thus far, the answer is a resounding, “yes!” Mark Mylod (“Succession”) took over directing duties from original filmmaker Alexander Payne on the very dark comedy, The Menu. Ralph Fiennes will co-star with Taylor-Joy who plays the traveling Margot in the picture. Fiennes will serve as Chef Slowik while the other principal role of Margot’s significant other will be played by hunk Nicholas Hoult. John Leguizamo, Janet McTeer (playing a food critic) and Judith Light of “Who’s the Boss?” fame are also starring in the picture. This weekend sees the release of Robert Eggers’ two hour-plus high-profile release, The Northman which showcases the versatile Taylor-Joy in a key role in the picture. In that film, our favorite young blonde actress, Taylor-Joy, plays Olga. The Northman is expected to do well at the box-office. Taylor-Joy fans probably already have their tickets. Last year, Taylor-Joy stole the show in Last Night in Soho and made herself visible on the radar as an actress to contend with. In Searchlight’s upcoming The Menu, she’s not only playing a quirky role (as usual), but this part could be Oscar bait when considering the talent surrounding her in the film. At the very least, the movie is perfectly timed with its Thanksgiving release being that it is primarily about food. Anya Taylor-Joy is always a “joy” to watch, and The Menu promises to offer her in fine form. Again, this film will be released by Searchlight on November 18th. This actress has so many fans from her work in Robert Eggers’ and A24’s horror classic from 2016, The Witch, that you can certainly bet the actress’s new movie will be on “the menu” for those people to watch ASAP!
