In terms of the latter part of the one-time superstar Stallone’s career, in 1997, the performer showed his dramatic acting chops in the star-studded film Cop Land. That picture did well at the box-office but failed to yield Stallone an expected Oscar nomination. Stallone did, however, get an Oscar nomination for 2015’s Creed but lost out for Best Supporting Actor to Mark Rylance for Bridge of Spies. Stallone is best known for his role as “Rocky Balboa” in some very popular boxing-themed films. He made many exciting action pictures along the way like Cliffhanger and Daylight but also appeared in the Woody Allen comedy, Bananas early in his career as well. It is also noteworthy that the actor will be appearing on an upcoming family themed show called “The Family Stallone” this May. This docu-series will be shown on Paramount Plus.
