Davis has made a career for herself playing roles that are groundbreaking in terms of the heights they reach in regard to dramatic satisfaction thanks to the fine actress’ acting ability. Don’t expect her role in the new picture to be any different from her previous performances in regards to quality. G20 is a political thriller which is slated to be directed by Patricia Riggen of the religious 2016 Jennifer Garner picture, Miracles From Heaven fame. Davis wowed audiences in her spectacular work in The Help back in 2011 but all bets were off when she played opposite Denzel Washington in her Academy Award-winning supporting role in 2016’s heavy drama, Fences. Davis almost won a Best Actress Oscar for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom which was released in 2020. She’s going to be a contender for another nod for her work in this year’s The Woman King, as previously stated. G20‘s basic premise will revolve around the G20 Summit and some terrorists that Davis’ President must fend off in order to save the country and civilazation as we know it. Davis’ character’s name in the upcoming film is Taylor Sutton. It sounds like a sure-fire hit and given Davis’ strong performance background, it seems she rarely turns in work that is anything less than stellar which means we should expect a top notch action movie. Picture a sort of Air Force One or White House Down with a woman President as the leading character. Leave your thoughts on Viola Davis’ casting in G20 below in the comments section.
