Léa Seydoux Set to Play Lady Margot
One of our most prolific actresses, Léa Seydoux, has just been selected to play Lady Margot in the eagerly awaited sequel, Dune: Part Two. When it comes down to it, let’s face it, Léa Seydoux doesn’t get enough credit. She was Owen Wilson’s hopeful love interest in her small part back in 2011’s gem, Midnight in Paris, but more recently, she’s been in some real heavy-hitters. Let’s consider her roles in last year’s gems, The French Dispatch and No Time to Die. Léa Seydoux hit the ball out of the park in both her vastly different roles in those pictures and wowed moviegoers yet again in the offbeat, controversial recent David Cronenberg offering, Crimes of the Future. Now, Seydoux has been selected to play Lady Margot, a key character who will be showcased in the upcoming sequel Dune: Part Two.

It’s time to give this actress the accolades she deserves and this follow-up to last year’s Dune: Part One promises to offer Seydoux in top form. Seydoux is joining other big names who are new to the Dune franchise such as Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken and Austin Butler. The role of Lady Margot is a key component to the second movie in this series. This character is a servant of the Sisterhood in the story and many are anxious to see how Seydoux will fare in her new high-profile role. While her part in the Oscar-winning (for Best Original Screenplay) Midnight in Paris was short, it was memorable enough to launch Seydoux into stardom. Who can forget her as the girl who “thinks of” Owen Wilson’s character and walks with him in the rain at the film’s conclusion? And, these days, she’s playing character roles with zest and she has certainly become a force to be reckoned with and is the “go-to” girl for intriguing character parts. Independent films such as Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch suit her just as nicely as parts in big-time blockbusters such as the recent James Bond film, No Time to Die. Returning in Dune: Part Two will be the one-two-three punch of performers Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson and the incomparable Zendaya. While set to premiere on the big screen on October 20, 2023, this upcoming picture has set high expectations considering the quality of the cast members and the huge success of Dune: Part One which got quite a few technical Oscars earlier this year. French actress Seydoux is a true original. She’s unique and fabulous in almost every part she plays whether the material is up to par or not. With Pugh, Walken, Butler and now Seydoux mixed into the new Dune picture, could another series of Oscar nominations be far behind? Whether Seydoux manages to get Academy Award love for this role or not, she’s certainly due for some serious awards recognition in one of her future roles!
